• Dear colleagues and friends,

Welcome to the official website of the Australia China Business Council (ACBC).

The ACBC is a membership-based, non-profit, non-governmental organisation comprised of a National Office, eight Branches, representing over 800 members with a broader network of over 15,000 organisations.

Formed in 1973, just one year after Australia and the People’s Republic of China began diplomatic relations, ACBC reflects 46 years of enduring commitment by Australia’s business community to Australia-China relations.

Over that period, our mission has remained steadfast: we inform, we educate, we connect, we promote, we collaborate, we advocate, we lead…so that we can deliver real outcomes for businesses operating across the two countries and the wider Asian markets.

We do this through an exciting calendar of events, conferences, study tours, delegation visits, thought-leadership and digital media designed to provide the latest information, programs and opportunities for the Australian business community to learn and network with peers on bilateral business, trade and investment opportunities.

As a bilateral business chamber, we support both Australian companies in China and Chinese firms in Australia.

But membership of the ACBC goes beyond just gaining access to events and information; it is about joining a collective force of companies who believe in the opportunities and potential of deepening the Australia-China bilateral relationship for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.

ACBC is influential in government circles as exemplified through our advocacy of the China Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) and submissions to Federal Government white papers. Moreover, our national sponsors are a critical source of support for ACBC activities in Australia and China, including events, research and government engagement activities.

The greatest asset we have is our membership. I am keen to get your suggestions and feedback on how we can create the opportunities to do business between Australia and China while also growing and fostering the relationships that can assist us to achieve our goals.

I warmly invite you to become a member of our organisation and look forward to ACBC being a champion for your business.

“The Australia-China relationship is one that is sophisticated and mature; that has delivered substantial benefits to our two countries; and still has much untapped potential. At ACBC, it is our mission to capture that potential for our membership” – National President David Olsson.
