Who We Are
Since 1973, ACBC has been at the forefront of Australia’s growing economic engagement with the People’s Republic of China, facilitating business leads, bridging networks and providing the latest market insights. As the beacon for the Australia-China business community, ACBC enjoys positive relations with the governments of both Australia and China, realising the potential of our complementary economies.

The History of ACBC
In 1973 Minister for Trade and Secondary Industry Jim Cairns led a delegation of 27 Australian business leaders to China.

What We Do
Australia China Business Council… knowledge, networks and advocacy to advance your business in China and Australia
ACBC is a not-for-profit member-based association that helps Australian and Chinese businesses to share knowledge and insights about trade and investment between Australia and China.
We host events and visiting delegations that enable members to foster relationships to help grow their China business. We also assist Chinese firms connect and succeed in Australia. We draw on a diverse network of China experts to share insights into contemporary China with ACBC members.
ACBC seeks to inform public opinion and promote better understanding in the wider community of the benefits of trade and investment with China. We are an advocate to government of policies that promote strong and sustainable business ties with China that will benefit our members and the Australian community.

Membership and Network
ACBC has a large and diverse membership and an extensive business network that goes beyond our members:
- Our membership spans agriculture, resources & energy, food & wine, tourism, education and research, health and many other sectors.
- The core of ACBC’s membership comprises small and medium businesses.
- We also have many corporate members; some of Australia’s largest companies are members and sponsors of the ACBC.
- Many of our members are exporters to China or have operations there. Others are service providers assisting other firms achieve success in Australia China business.
- Our members include Chinese firms investing or operating in Australia
- Our wider network comprises over 20,000 business professionals.

The ACBC is a national membership-based, non-profit, non-governmental organisation representing over 700 members with a broader network of over 20,000 organisations.
Formed in 1973, just one year after Australia and the People’s Republic of China began diplomatic relations, ACBC reflects more than 46 years of enduring commitment by Australia’s business community to Australia-China relations. Read More >>
