AUSTRALIA CHINA BUSINESS COUNCIL (ACBC) & CATHAY PACIFIC PARTNER TO STRENGTHEN AUSTRALIA-CHINA TRADE TIES
29 October 2024
The Australia China Business Council (ACBC) is proud to announce Cathay Pacific as its new National Partner, supporting the growth of bilateral trade, investment, and tourism between Australia and China. This partnership highlights the crucial role aviation plays in global economic growth and will help foster deeper commercial connections between the two nations.
David Olsson AM, National Chair of ACBC, highlighted the importance of aviation in fostering international relationships, stating, “Aviation is at the heart of global economic growth. This partnership with Cathay Pacific will not only facilitate trade and investment but also enable tourism and ensure people-to-people links are maintained, which are the foundation of our bilateral economic relationship.”
Cathay Pacific’s Regional General Manager for the South West Pacific, Frosti Lau, expressed excitement about the opportunities this partnership will bring, particularly further business and trade possibilities ahead between China and Australia. “Cathay Pacific has deep roots in Hong Kong, is proudly part of China, and connects to the world. As Hong Kong’s home airline, this collaboration enables us to showcase the city as the premier gateway to the wider Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the Chinese Mainland. We’re offering Australian industries access to one of the world’s fastest-growing economic regions with seamless connections via our hub Hong Kong International Airport,” Lau said.
This partnership will deliver joint events, including state-based sessions to explore business opportunities in the GBA, strengthening ties and enhancing economic collaboration between Australia and China.
