On Wed 12 October 2022 ACBC Victoria was delighted to partner with Pitcher Partners to host a long-awaited, exclusive in-person event with Tim Pallas MP, the Treasurer of Victoria, Minister for Economic Development, Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Trade.
Hosted at Pitcher Partners’ CBD offices, to a select group of ACBC Members and guests in the property, development and investment sector, the Treasurer outlined the Victorian Government’s vision for the future of the Australia-China bilateral relationship and key sectors for bilateral activities.
The Minister was joined by Andrew Clugston (Partner, Business Advisory and Assurance, Pitcher Partners) for a candid and insightful fireside chat. The Minister responded to a range of questions from Andrew and the audience surrounding Victoria’s presence in China, tax policy, infrastructure development and spoke directly with a number of members on prospective projects to boost Victoria’s global standing for investment attractiveness.
Hosted by Virginia Birrell (CEO, ACBC Victoria & Tasmania), the afternoon session was a constructive discussion as Australia and China celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations in December 2022.
ACBC sees this as an appropriate time to pause and take stock of the relationship involving key government stakeholders and plan for a mutually beneficial and productive relationship for the next 50-plus years.
