Thurs 25 Feb 2021 – ACBC Victoria in partnership with the Australian Football League welcomed guests back in-person after nearly 12 months of online events to celebrate the Year of the Ox.
An unforgettable evening – it was a pleasure to welcome a diverse array of our ACBC Vic network to the Lee Ho Fook Restaurant in Marvel Stadium for networking with friends, speeches from key government & business representatives, food, entertainment, prizes (thanks to Montara Wines and AeroShop) and a touch of luxury (thanks to Bentley Melbourne).
Recorded speeches (due to COVID-19) from the newly appointed Federal Trade Minister the Hon. Dan Tehan MP and Chinese Consul General to Melbourne, Long Zhou acknowledged the increased complexity of global trade while highlighting the high levels of complementarity and long-standing friendship between Australia and China.
Expertly MC’d by ACBC Vic Vice President Laura Mattiazzi, along with speeches from the AFL’s Kylie Rodgers and ACBC Vic President Matthew Schofield, guests were treated to an evening of tasty dishes, beverages, entertainment and face-to-face connections much missed by all in the community.
The night represented a notable step towards COVID normal, a positive show of solidarity for the Australia-China business community and a hopeful sign for the Year of the Ox.
