ACBC Victoria was pleased to again be the supporting partner in the hugely successful ACETIE Australia China Economic Trade and Investment Expo held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on September 19-21 September, attracting 250 Chinese and Australian exhibitors and over 5,000 delegates.
ACBC Vic was proud to work on the Steering Committee with the CCCA Melbourne office and the event organisers on this, our 7th expo. We extend a big thanks and congratulations to everyone involved and give a special shout out to our sponsors!
Speakers at the opening plenary, business forums, networking events and gala dinner reinforced the positive messages on the complementarity of Australia/China trade; Australia as China’s 7th largest trading partner and China as Australia’s No. 1 trading partner; strong people-to-people links – with Mandarin being the second largest spoken language in Australia; and the opportunities emerging from the improvement in political relations.
We thank the following for their insightful presentations and for being part of this important bilateral trade event : Chair of ACETIE, Hon ANDREW ROBB. AO; Paul Hamer representing the Premier and the Treasurer; Federal Assistant Minuster for Foreign Affairs the HonTim Watts MP; Mr GAO Feng Minister-Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs from the Chinese embassy; Mr Fang Xinwen Consul General in Vic/Tas; Hon Dr Craig Emerson; Professor the Hon Gareth Evans AC; Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Nick Reece; and our former President the Hon Ken Smith AO.
In addition, we greatly appreciated hearing from the 47 guest presenters who addressed forums on topics ranging from electric vehicles, AI, technology innovation, future homes, going global, investment, the Green economy and more.
With further opening up of trade opportunities, we look forward to more Australian and Chinese businesses participating in ACETIE 2025 so that together we can continue the momentum and accelerate positive outcomes for the future.
