ACBC welcomes the appointment of the China Capability Program Advisory Board

The Australia China Business Council (ACBC) is delighted to announce the appointment of the Advisory Board for the China Capability Program.
The China Capability Program, supported by the Australian Government's National Foundation for Australia-China Relations (the Foundation), aims to both equip Australian industry with the knowledge and tools necessary to engage effectively with China and to lead with innovation, resilience, and risk-informed engagement.
The Advisory Board, bringing its expertise to ACBC, will provide strategic oversight and guidance over the China Capability Program, helping to ensure it meets its objectives of lifting Australia's China engagement and capability and strengthening bilateral economic outcomes. The Advisory Board will focus on several key areas, in particular: strategic alignment, market insights, communication and advocacy, and program impact and scalability.
Welcoming the appointments, Tom Parker, ACBC's Chief Executive Officer, remarked: "It is an honour to invite and confirm these distinguished executives to the Advisory Board, and have them work with ACBC. I am sure that they will be able to strengthen and improve the program, so that we can deliver this program in the Australian interest to enhance the capabilities of Australian business and industry."
The Advisory Board will be made of 5 board members:
- Chair: Mr. Andrew Whitford, formerly the Regional Head of Greater China at Westpac Banking Corporation,
- Kim Pang, Deputy CEO of the Foundation
- Peter Osborne, China Strategic Advisor at Team Global Express
- Gloria Yuen, Co-Founder and Director Asian Australian Professional Collective, Head of Regulatory Enablement and Delivery at NAB
- Tom Parker, representing the ACBC on the Board.
ACBC looks forward to working alongside the Advisory Board, for the program to enhance the Australia's business and industry's China Capability on all fronts.
Gary Cowan, Foundation CEO welcomed the appointment of the Advisory Board:
"The China Capability Program supports industry and business to navigate China's evolving complexities through a program of in-person and online learning and mentoring.
"Through improved knowledge and understanding of China, the program will promote more risk-informed engagement.
