On 19 May 2022, Australia China Business Council President, David Olsson, attended the 70th anniversary conference for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Beijing.
The event was held in person for those able to be in Beijing, and on-line for more than 10,000 representatives of chambers of commerce, trade promotion agencies and multinational companies from 59 countries and regions around the world.
The Australia China Business Council (ACBC) was one of only 20 international business councils invited to join a panel session as part of the trade summit.
In his speech delivered during a panel session, David Olsson congratulated CCPIT on its achievements, and highlighted the strong relationship that has existed between CCPIT and ACBC for nearly 50 years.
Over that time, he pointed out that “both nations had achieved much together” and that “Australian companies continue to focus on China with a long term view of bilateral relations”.
Commenting on the panel theme of innovation and green development, David Olsson noted that both nations shared a rich history of entrepreneurship and innovation across many sectors, adding that while there are challenges to be worked through, shared objectives around the global climate challenge and the need to focus on green development, offered scope for future collaborations and partnerships.
ACBC congratulates CCPIT on its 70th anniversary. As we prepare to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Australia and China later this year, we look forward to working together to promote high quality foreign trade and investment between Australia and China.
