Seizing the Hydrogen Opportunity for Australia

13 Oct 2021

ACBC warmly invites you to a comprehensive update on Australia’s Hydrogen Plan – involving projects and perspectives from around the country.

Australia, with its rich resources, economic capacity, established trade connectivity and geographic placement is perfectly poised to become a global leader in the hydrogen energy market. This includes becoming the Indo-Pacific’s export superpower of ‘green’ hydrogen as evidenced through the release of the National Hydrogen Strategy in 2019, which includes a $370 million funding package to position Australia as a major global player in clean hydrogen by 2030.

Seizing the hydrogen opportunity could help deliver economic returns similar to those generated by fossil fuel energies including coal and natural gas over several decades. This strategy reflects the global upswing in demand for hydrogen with studies forecasting Australia to become East Asia’s largest hydrogen exporter, exporting 42% of regional supply by 2040.

In this three-state virtual seminar, representatives from Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland will be joined by Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, and Fortescue Future Industries, to address the latest updates and market perspectives in this rapidly evolving branch of Australia’s energy economy.

Covering a federal overview and state by state breakdown, speakers will provide insight into recent trends to help you align your business goals and share new opportunities in this exciting sector. The session will include an interactive panel discussion with Q&A, providing an opportunity for you to voice your queries and concerns with government and industry representatives.
