More Than Sport – Platforms for Cultural Understanding and Engagement for Professional Women

09 Jun 2021

Join ACBC Vic for a special virtual networking event with female leaders from the multicultural sporting industry.

The value of sport is greater than simply the ‘game’. Networks, friendships and cross-cultural communication together with career and personal growth opportunities all contribute to the tremendous value of sport.

China has always placed a premium on cultural diplomacy and the value of sport. Back to 1971, China promoted broader bilateral relationships and broke down barriers between countries by utilising ‘ping pong diplomacy’. Fast forward to 2017 and an AFL game played at a packed out Jiangwan Stadium in Shanghai represents the value sport has on effective cultural diplomacy.

With increasing global tensions, this event brings an opportunity to re-consider how the business community can help rebuild bilateral communication through sporting interaction and professional female leadership.

Australia and China are some of the world’s leading sporting nations. This event presents a great opportunity to join ACBC Vic in conversation with our professional speakers to understand the achievements of multicultural women in sport and how sport can facilitate cross-cultural communication.

Panellists will discuss the impact they have made at local and global levels, and how Victorian and Chinese organisations can partner to realise the full potential of women leaders in the industry.

All welcome.
