The Overall Plan of the Hainan Free Trade Port, released by Chinese authorities on June 1st, 2020, is regarded as the most important strategic plan implemented for future growth. By transforming the entire island province of Hainan into a free trade port (FTP), the Overall Plan for the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port will form the largest Free Trade Port in China. For Australian firms, Hainan will provide broader market access – particularly for industries like telecommunications, tourism, modern services, high and new technology, and education – in addition to a phased plan for capital account opening and free flow of money between Hainan and overseas markets.
ACBC QLD, in partnership with the China Construction Bank (CCB) Sydney Branch, invites members and friends to join our guest speaker Han Shengjian, the Director General of the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, who will provide an introduction to the Hainan Free Trade Port Overall Plan, exploring the policies that are designed to make Hainan a strategic trade and investment destination in China. Hikmet Smith and Esther Yu from the China Construction Bank Sydney Branch will introduce the Trade Finance services and support that they have been offering to facilitate trade between Australia and China.
