China Trade Demystified – Data-driven Insights with TradeData International

04 Oct 2021

ACBC Victoria invites you to an exclusive facts-based trade update with Australia’s leading data-driven trade statistics organisation.

Australia-China trade statistics easily become muddled. Too much focus on media reporting and not enough objectivity regarding the ‘real’ situation can cause confusion and lead to poor business decisions. What’s more, Australian exporters often only get one side of the picture regarding our trade with China.

To explore a data-driven overview including developments in our trade from the Chinese market perspective, ACBC Victoria is pleased to host Jim Lang of TradeData International, a private company accessing the most detailed international trade information possible to help clients make better business decisions.

TradeData will join us for this special online briefing analysing data from the last 5 years (to July ’21) including:

  • Australian overview of all goods sectors to understand the relative importance of major trade sectors, including Victorian highlights.
  • Major export items (by value) from Australia and from Victoria to China over the past five years reflecting bilateral trade and COVID-related disruptions.
  • Top export items to China and which have suffered the greatest growth/decline.
  • Where is China sourcing product that they previously sourced from Australia?
  • Where has Australia has been able to increase exports to other markets, products they previously exported to China?
