Australia China Cross Border Trade: Risks, Opportunities, and the RMB

Doing business in overseas markets can be both challenging and rewarding. Whether you are currently buying from or selling to China or looking at China as an investment destination, understanding the risks and the available financing options is paramount for success.

In this event, we will outline these opportunities, and also discuss how cross border flows are helping fund the Australian Banking sector, with particular emphasis on the RMB perspective.

Speaking at the event will be Mark Todd, Managing Director (Fixed Interest), alongside Paul De Angelis, Executive Director & Head of Business Development, both from the Bank of China.

Mr Mark Todd

With over 25 years of industry experience and previously managing the sales function at the Fixed Income Investment Group, Mark Todd is the Managing Director of Fixed Interest Products at the Bank of China. Previously acting as the Director of Sub-Institutional Fixed Income Distribution at National Australia Bank. Mark joined Bank of China in late 2019. Prior to joining Bank of China in Sydney, Mark worked at NAB, covering core customers. In order to broaden customer engagement, Mark hosted Your Money Your Call (Fixed Income) on Sky Business. At NAB, Mark have also organised an annual fixed income seminar in September 2019 with over 700 registered attendants.

Mr Paul De Angelis

Paul De Anglis is a seasoned professional, having had 30 years’ experience in the banking industry. He is now the Executive Director & Head of Business Development, Trade Finance (Transaction Banking) at the Bank of China (Sydney), and has previously held roles including as the Head of Trade & Cashflows Finance at St. George Bank and as Director – Trade & Supply Chain Finance at National Australia Bank.
