The Greater Bay Area (GBA) of Southern China comprises 9 cities in Guangdong province, plus the Special Administrative Regions (SARs) of Hong Kong and Macau, spanning 56sq km with a population of over 86m. Over the past 5 years since the region’s blueprint was defined, the GBA’s importance in the national economic development and reform agenda has become ever more prominent, and the region currently contributes 11% to China’s national GDP.

Many are familiar with the GBA’s high profile cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou … but the other 7 cities are less well known. In this webinar we shall introduce all cities and highlight their specialised industries, sectors and characteristics – in order to help ACBC members and guests identify new areas of potential opportunity in this dynamic region.

The Australian Consul- General to Guangzhou, Michael Sadleir will join TIQ’s Guangzhou team Tequila Cao and Joey Qiu, and TIQ Commissioner Julia Herries in Hong Kong to unpack this multi-city engine of growth and economic reform.
