ACBC QLD invites members and friends to join our highly experienced speakers for a panel discussion session exploring the growth trajectory of the plant-based protein market in Asia.

We will be joined by Andrew Ive, Founder and Managing General Partner of Big Idea Ventures, Salomi Naik, Head of Innovation for AI Palette, Viola Chen, Innovation Specialist from GFI Consultancy, and our moderator Tony Hunter, Food Futurist from Future Cubed, who will discuss consumer demand trends, product offerings and categories, as well as opportunities available for Australian producers and distributors within the plant-based protein space.

Andrew Ive

Founder / Managing General Partner, Big Idea Ventures
Focused on supporting entrepreneurs to solve the world's biggest challenges, Andrew launched and grew businesses at Procter & Gamble. P&G brand management trained, and while in his dorm room at Business School, he took a new product idea, raised angel funds, established a manufacturing facility in China and a sales force to sell his first solo product line into major US retailers. Andrew has focused on innovation, developing high-growth businesses opportunities and as a business advisor in multiple verticals. He holds a BSc from the University of London and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Institute of Chemical Technology and a Masters of Business Administration, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, from The University of Texas Red McCombs School of Business. Ai Palette enables consumer goods companies within F&B to create consumer winning products using AI and Machine Learning. Ai Palette’s patented technology identifies trends in real-time, uncovers consumer needs & motivations, and helps in creating product concepts that win with consumers.

Viola Chen

Innovation Specialist, GFI Consultancy
GFIC is a strategic partner of the Good Food Institute Asia Pacific (GFI APAC) with a laser focus on the alternative protein industry in mainland China. Viola is passionate about sustainable protein for a better future and she is driven to discover high-potential entrepreneurs and businesses to create and leverage the latest innovations in China’s alternative protein space as Innovation Specialist for GFIC. Viola is the author of the report“ 2021 China Alternative Protein Innovation Insights: Plant-based Meat”, and formerly served as Chief of Staff at GFI APAC when she led the Asia alternative protein industry map project “Asia Alt 100”.
