Monday 19 April 2021 – ACBC Victoria hosted a Strategic China Briefing with Brett Stevens, the Victorian Government’s Commissioner to Greater China.
Following our previous virtual briefings with Brett in 2020, this timely update helped consolidate knowledge and provide new information for ACBC members on recent developments to, and the current status of the Victoria-China trade relationship.
Brett emphasised the hard work being done by all the Victorian Investment and Trade (VGTI) offices around China along with the resilient Victorian business community.
Covering a wide array of sectoral issues – education, agribusiness, investment, dual circulation and more along with important new postings for the Victorian government in both Guangzhou and Chengdu – this online briefing provided our members and network with reliable, specific and helpful insights into China’s current market status and Victoria’s continuing role with our number one trading partner.
Brett also specifically addressed the new Study Melbourne Hub Shanghai. The Hub will support international students currently studying online offshore, as well as prospective students, and provide a shared, physical location for students to study collectively.
We look forward to hosting Brett for another update later in the year.
