Event Recap - ACBC Victoria End of Year Networking Drinks Function

30 November 2016

Over 150 guests filled International Chamber House on 30 November to celebrate the end of another busy and successful year for ACBC Victoria.

Guests were drawn from our extensive network of members and friends, as well as the Victorian Executive Committee and the ACBC National Board.

The evening began with networking opportunities and a chance to taste a range of Brown Brothers wine and paired canapes. The seven wines on the tasting menu boast over 40 awards collectively and reflect the value Brown Brothers place on high levels of integrity, authenticity and transparency in the wines they produce.

The formal proceedings began with a welcome from ACBC Victoria President, The Hon Ken Smith. This was followed by an address from Mr John Andrew Brown, Board Director of Brown Brothers. He spoke about the company’s high standards in food and wine, the family history of the company, as well as their deep connections with China. After another break for networking, John spoke again more specifically about each of the wines on offer for guests.

ACBC National President, The Hon John Brumby then gave a brief speech, providing an update on ACBC National following the AGM which took place earlier in the day. John reiterated what a fortunate position Australia is in with regards to the ChAFTA. We have gained beneficial access to the China market long before many other countries and this affords Australian businesses many opportunities.

ACBC Vic runs 60+ events every year. Whether you are in the direct marketing area, service, banking, legal, health products, wine industry, the property industry, or a host of other different sectors, we run and tailor events to open up trade and investment opportunities here and in the China market – and our networking opportunities are outstanding.

We kindly thank all our sponsors and members for their support throughout this year and we very much look forward to another busy and successful 2017.
