Event Recap: Networking Evening at Paspaley
22 June 2016
The stylish Paspaley Peal Boutique on Collins Street was the perfect setting on a wintry Melbourne night to enjoy a Pearl Discovery and Personal Image Style evening, while enjoying canapes, champagne and the chance to wear pearls up to the value of $288,000 while learning about the history of the Paspaley family business and acquiring some fashion tips.
During the event, guests were able to examine the unique collection of pearl jewellery on display. Stations set up around the boutique gave guests the chance to learn about pearl grading and strand fitting, as well as view several of the company’s signature collections.
The proceedings were opened by ACBC Victoria's CEO, Virginia Birrell, who then introduced Mr Christopher Paspaley, a third generation member of the Paspaley family and Director of Merchandise. Mr Paspaley spoke about the compelling history of the company and the fascinating nature of Australia's world-renowned South Sea pearls.
The second presenter of the evening was International Stylist, Ms Kaye Ure, who has over 25 years’ experience in fashion, design and style. After 18 years working in London, she returned with her family to Melbourne, the city in which she grew up, and established Kaye Ure Style & Colour. In her presentation, Kaye offered fashion and style advice specific to pearls and jewellery and spoke in-depth about the history behind the pearl and how its associations in fashion have changed throughout the centuries.
The night concluded with further networking opportunities. ACBC Victoria would like to thank Paspaley Pearls for hosting this unique event and all those who attended. We also extend our special thanks to Christopher Paspaley and Kaye Ure for their interesting and informative presentations.
