Event Recap: The China Update - Opportunities for Australia - Melbourne

On Tuesday 23 February, PwC hosted ‘The China Update: Opportunities for Australia’. Over 100 guests attended to hear the latest information on China and Austrade’s Australia Week in China program from leading business, industry experts and government representatives.

The keynote address was delivered by the Hon Jacinta Allan MP, Victorian Minister for Employment and Public Transport. This was followed by an engaging panel discussion moderated by ACBC Victoria President, the Hon Ken Smith, and included Dr Chuyang Liu, Austrade; Mr Alex Wyatt, RayGen; Mr Chris Straw, ThomsonAdsett; Dr Mona Chung, Cross Culture International and Ms Cathy Li, PwC.

AWIC will take place from 11-15 April this year, led by the Minister for Trade and Investment. The delegation of Australian business representatives to China will consist of trade, investment, education and tourism promotion events – all designed to highlight commercial opportunities underpinned by the rise of affluent middle class and the China Australia Free Trade Agreement.

Australia Week in China aims to provide delegates from a range of sectors with a sophisticated understanding of the structural changes underway in contemporary China.
