The Australia China Business Council together with King & Wood Mallesons and the Alibaba Group is pleased to invite you to the event The Alibaba Group: An E-Commerce Ecosystem

Alibaba Group recently announced it would open an office later this year in Australia to service the Australian and New Zealand markets. This event is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the Alibaba Group on their plans, as well as the opportunities for Australian business to engage directly with the Chinese market through Alibaba's various e-commerce platforms. The event will also feature a case study or a well known Australian consumer goods company that has successfully used the Alibaba platform to engage with the Chinese market. 

Alibaba Group was famously founded by 18 people led by Jack Ma in 1999. Since then, Alibaba Group has grown to operate leading online and mobile marketplaces in retail and wholesale trade, as well as cloud computing and other services. Alibaba Group provides technology and services to enable consumers, merchants, and other participants to conduct commerce in our ecosystem.

Speaker Biography 
John O’Loghlen
Director of Business Development
Australia and New Zealand
Alibaba Group

 
John O'Loghlen joined Alibaba Group as Director of Business Development for Australia and New Zealand in March 2016. In this role, John focuses on serving clients across all of the Alibaba Group’s business units, with a particular focus on assisting Australia and New Zealand brands and businesses connect with the Chinese consumer.
 
John brings to Alibaba strong cross-border trading experience and knowledge to support the company’s developments in Australia and New Zealand. Before relocating to Sydney in 2014, John co-founded a leading gourmet pizza chain in Beijing which is a strategic commercial partner in China for Fonterra. Prior to Gung Ho! Pizza, John led Domino's Pizza International's Asian business from 2006 to 2009 based in China. John also spent five years investment banking at Goldman Sachs working in London, New York and Beijing and has served as a New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) government appointed advisor to leading New Zealand corporations in China.
 
He holds a BA from Harvard University and an MPhil from Cambridge University. He studied Chinese at Tsinghua and BLCU in Beijing, and is proficient in Mandarin.
 
 


Kiki Wu
Country Manager (Australia and New Zealand)
Alipay

 
Kiki Wu started working at Alipay in 2006.  In 2008, Kiki was one of the early employees joining Alipay’s International Division and has since been active in Alipay’s global expansion.
 
Kiki has played a key role in growing Alipay in Japan and Korea and has worked extensively to assist many global players in the travel industry to take advantage of the Alipay platform.
 
From February 2016, Kiki was appointed Country Manager of Alipay Australia and New Zealand. In this role, Kiki manages key relationships with Australian retailers and helps support the growing number of Chinese tourists, students and retailers using Alipay in Australia.
