The biggest challenge for any SME is using restricted resources in a way that delivers tangible, bottom-line results. China, with its fast-paced economic growth, scale and rapidly changing business environment, often results in Australian SMEs feeling overwhelmed by the opportunities and challenges and not quite knowing which direction to take.

Join the Australia China Business Council for an exclusive strategic planning workshop to develop a strategy for your SME’s commercial engagement with China and receive practical feedback on how to access opportunities for your business.

Attendees will:

  • Develop a tailored, three page strategic plan to build your China business;
  • Receive introductions to relevant business contacts aligning to your strategy;
  • Understand fundamental principles when doing business with China;
  • Review case studies of SMEs’ engagement with China;
  • Understand the challenges Australian SMEs most commonly face when dealing with China; and Network with like-minded SMEs.

The strategy session is strictly limited to ten businesses (two representatives from each). The three hour session over a working lunch will equip your company for the next chapter of its China engagement.

About the Facilitator

The SME Workshop is facilitated by James Hudson, Chief Executive Officer of the Australia China Business Council NSW. James is a Chinese language speaker with nearly ten years of experience working with mainland China, including three and a half years living in Beijing. James has developed China engagement strategies for a number of organisations including one of Australia’s largest Government agencies. James has also operated a Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE) in mainland China and consulted to a number of companies on aspects of their China engagement, including Google China, British Telecom and the Prince’s Foundation.
