Andrew Whitford, General Manager and Regional Head of Greater China, Westpac Banking Corporation
Andrew joined Westpac in 2004 in the bank’s client coverage team in Sydney covering Financial Institutions, Health and Government clients. In 2007, he relocated to mainland China to open the bank's first China branch in Shanghai. With the significant growth of the bank's Greater China business, he was appointed in 2011 to head the business where he has responsibility for the bank's operations and strategy in the region, covering mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Andrew has relocated from Shanghai to Hong Kong in 2014, to head up the Hong Kong branch, in addition to his geographic leadership role as Head of Greater China.
Prof Russell Trood, Professor of International Relations and Director of the Griffith Asia Institute at Griffith University.
Prof Trood is also President of the United Nations Association of Australia and a member of the Board of the Australian American Fulbright Association.Previously, he was a Liberal Senator for Queensland in the Australian Parliament, serving as Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade and as a member of the Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security and the Joint Committee of Foreign Affairs Defence and Trade, among other positions. In 2012 he completed an appointment as the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Australia for Eastern Europe.
Ms Jean Dong, Founder and Managing Director, Spark Corporation
Jean Dong is the founder and managing director of Spark Corporation Group based in Melbourne. Jean co-founded Winworld Australia Pty Ltd in 2012, a company that builds Australian agriculture supply chains and manages assets, which was ranked by BRW magazine as one of Australia's top 100 fastest growing companies in 2013. In late 2013, Jean founded Spark Corporation, which led a MOU for the Australian-Chinese modern agriculture strategic collaboration under the Free Trade Agreement framework. The MOU was signed by senior government officials from both countries in the presence of the President of China and the Prime Minister of Australia in 2014. Jean was named “Global Shaper” by World Economic Forum in 2014 and is 2015 World Economic Forum New Champions Awardee.
