ACBC Victoria is pleased to invite you to the next event in our SME's Business Intelligence Series with guest speaker Mr Tom Parker General Manager, China Advisory at Bastion S+GO. Tom's presentation will highlight that many Australian companies fail to see the opportunities to sell to ‘China’ in their own backyard. China remains Victoria’s largest trading partner but is also the source of the state’s highest number of international students, tourists and migration. The recent attention around the significant investor visa and media reports on Chinese investment in local residential property fails to highlight the opportunity the locally based Chinese market represents.
As a China specialist concentrating on helping others overcome cultural and business barriers when working or dealing with China, Tom will seek to provide insight into how to connect with the Chinese community in Victoria, in order to expand your business in Australia and China. He will focus on the tourism, retail and agribusiness sectors, where opportunities currently abound for businesses engaging with China.
Tom Parker has recently been appointed as General Manager, China Advisory at Bastion S+GO that specialises in strategic advice, market research and business influence to achieve success in the China market. His long term engagement with China has resulted in an impressive Chinese network and the ability to enable business outcomes for business and government clients. As an intercultural and China specialist with a focus on international trade and stakeholder management, Tom Parker has been providing a range of advisory services to both the private and public sector organisations across a number of industries including: biotechnology, higher education, agribusiness, financial services, local government, sports and recreation, health, tourism, and trade and investment.
