  • Tim Lu, Natonal Director China Practice, KPMG

Tim has extensive experience in advising Australian and Chinese clients on cross-border trade and investment issues. Trained as chemical engineer, he worked for Chinese corporate, Austrade, and Chevron before joining KPMG.  Tim has been involved with KPMG in a large number of China-Australia cross border transaction and is familiar with most Chinese investment in Australia and Australian investment in China.  He has in depth understanding of Chinese business practice and  key criteria for Chinese investors. bio link here

  •  William Wu, Executive Vice Chairman of Guoxin International.  

William has over 20 years’ experience in asset management, corporate finance and investment in infrastructure and natural resources industries. He has held senior roles with leading global multinational firms such as JP Morgan, CITIC Group, Anglo Chinese Group, Macquarie Bank and Austa Energy. He holds the Responsible Officer Type 4 license – ‘Advising on Securities’ regulated by the Securities and Future Commission of Hong Kong (SFC). Guoxin International is the investment vehicle of the Guoxin Tendering Group’s (Guoxin Group) international business. The Guoxin Group is China’s largest procurement and tendering group. In the past six years, Guoxin has completed over 20,000 projects with total project tendering contract value of over RMB 2 trillion (USD 320 billion).   •  Catriona Riordan, Investment Specialist – Greater China, Austrade

Catriona joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in 2003. In 2006, she was posted to the Economic section of the Australian Embassy in Beijing, where she focused on trade in energy and resources. In 2010, Catriona moved to Guangzhou to head the Australian Consulate-General’s Policy and Research team. In 2014, Catriona focused on the investment chapter of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement. She joined Austrade’s China investment team in 2015 and is now based in Melbourne. bio link here

Over the last five years, Laura has played an important role in driving business development through the CBA’s Multicultural Banking strategy. Laura emigrated from China over 25 years ago. She has accumulated a wealth of experience in dealing with Asian clients and has worked for Bank of China (in China), Westpac (in New Zealand), and ANZ (in Australia).  Laura was co-author of a highly-rated Chinese guidebook to New Zealand, “New Zealand – A Piece of Jade in the South Pacific”. After the success of the book, Laura’s story was featured in “New Zealand Woman 2 Woman”, an anthology of success stories from high-achieving women in New Zealand.

Luisa is Austrade’s Acting State Director – Queensland and Northern Territory. Prior to this role Luisa was the Senior Trade Adviser and Team Leader for Agribusiness in Austrade's Food and Agribusiness Team. Prior to joining Austrade Brisbane in 2015, Luisa was the Australian Consul (Commercial) and Trade Commissioner in Austrade Shanghai from 2010 - 2014. Luisa had the national watching brief on following industry sectors: Infrastructure project including Building and Design, Technology, Advanced Manufacturing and Creative Industries.
