A particular aim with this roundtable is to promote knowledge about changing policies, processes and structures and to encourage a sharing of issues and experiences with regard to operating in China (if Australian) and operating in Australia (if Chinese).
We plan to take a “bilateral” look, to consider our own policies and processes and the “fit” with China. I understand there are significant changes to facilitate R&D in China. How compatible are they with Australian approaches? How open are they to Australian organisations? Do we need to adapt or meet somewhere in the middle?
A possible outcome may be to produce a draft set of guidelines for eventual production of an easy to use manual or guide. However, this is for participants in this first exploratory seminar to determine the value of this.
