After registering double digit economic growth rates for more than two decades China’s GDP was cut in half by the Global Financial Crisis. With a $586 billion (4 trillion RMB) fiscal stimulus package introduced in November 2008, China has sustained a growth rate of 7.5% in 2009. Meanwhile Australia appears to be the strongest performing economy amongst the developed countries. Is there a connection?
