H.E. Zhou Wenzhong is a member of the 11th Chinese Peoples’ Political Consultative Conference, has held leading posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China, most recently as Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of America and prior to that as Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of China. He was Ambassador to Australia between 1998 and 2003.
The BFA annual forum is held in China and hosts high-level discussions for decision-makers from government, business and academia. Its aim is to address the most pressing issues in the Asia-Pacific Region and globally. In its growing prestige and networks, it ranks alongside the World Economic Forum.
The CPPCC (Chinese Peoples’ Political Consultative Conference) is an important organ of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC. It comprises the CPC, other political parties, mass organizations, representatives from all walks of life, compatriots of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as of returned overseas Chinese and others by special invitation.
