With two-way trade in 2017-2018 totalling $195 billion, China is Australia’s largest and arguably, most important trading partner. Not only built on trade, this relationship continues to grow and prosper with links between the two countries stretching between tourism, education and people-to-people links.

Heavily involved in negotiations on the China Australia Free Trade Agreement, Graham Fletcher has an experienced understanding of the complexities and opportunities surrounding Australian business with China.

At this exclusive briefing, Graham will share his insights into this bilateral trade and investment relationship, as well as discussing some of the challenges in this space.

GRAHAM FLETCHER

Mr Fletcher is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and was most recently First Assistant Secretary, North Asia Division. He has previously served overseas as Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy, Washington; Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy, Beijing; and Counsellor, Australian Embassy, Beijing. Mr Fletcher holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney.
