UNSW Chinese Student Union and Think China is hosting a conference (in Sydney) that will focus on children's health and development, with aims to address best practices and solutions for children’s wellbeing. The event brings together paediatric professionals, researchers and medical practitioners from both Australia and China to share ideas and developments in children's health.

About the Speakers

 

Dr Kerryn Phelps AM PM

Dr Kerryn Phelps is the first female President of the Australian Medical Association. She was also the first woman and Independent to be elected to the seat of Wentworth in the House of Representatives, in the Federal By Election in 2018. Dr Kerryn Phelps was elected to the Council of the City of Sydney in 2016 and was Deputy Lord Mayor from 2016 to 2017. She is a mother, doctor, business woman, health communicator, public health and civil rights advocate, author and media commentator. She was awarded an Order of Australia for her contributions to Medicine as well as the Centenary Medal.

 

Dr Caroline West

Dr Caroline West is one of Australia’s best-known media doctors. She is a leading health expert in the areas of wellness, work/life balance, stress management, prevention and lifestyle medicine. Dr Caroline West is the past President of the Australian Lifestyle Medicine Association (ALMA) and also a vocal champion of preventative medicine and has been an ambassador for Global World Sight Day promoting prevention of vision loss.

Dr Yutao Cui

Dr Cui is a well-known paediatrician in China. He has been engaged in paediatric work for more than 30 years. He has comprehensive understanding and practical experience in the field of neonatal and infant medicine. He has won the respect and trust of millions of parents, his Weibo followers is above 7.8 million today. In October 2016,  the Cui Yutao Yu Xueyuan Pediatric Clinic officially opened, providing ongoing professional scientific parenting knowledge and support.
