Mr Anming Feng - Consul for Science and Technology, The Consulate General of China in Brisbane
Mr. Feng Anming has worked with the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST). From 1996 to 2013, he served as the First Secretary and Director for S&T Affairs in the Embassy of China in Thailand, China Mission to European Union, Embassy of China in Belgium and Embassy of China in Indonesia respectively. He was the Director of Executive Office and Vice Secretary General, Association of Scientific and Technological Achievements Management of China and the Liaison Officer and Senior Consultant of UNESCO’s General Information Program, Intergovernmental Informatics Program, and Information for All program in China. He is also the Member of China Association for International S&T Cooperation and Senior Consultant of the Department of S&T, Yunnan Province, China.

Chris Evason - Managing Director of International Education Services
Chris has served in his current role since setting the company up in 1998. Prior to IES, Chris worked in both Europe and Australia in a variety of positions including as a Science teacher, an ESL teacher and in various senior administrative roles within education. Chris studied at the University of Nottingham in the UK and gained an honors degree in Chemistry and subsequently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education at King’s College, London University. He also holds qualifications in company directorship from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Diploma of Management from Victoria University and formal qualifications in ESL teaching. He was on the National Board of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) from 2006-2008 and plays an active part in the wider international education industry, speaking at conferences and workshops regarding the benefits of a more professional workforce in the industry and the impact of technology in education more broadly.

Dr Lynn Fink - Director of Research for BGI Australia
BGI Australia was established in Brisbane in 2016. BGI is a world leading genomic organisation, with head office in Shenzhen, devoted to facilitating cutting-edge research in the areas of healthcare, agriculture and environment. Dr Fink’s role is devoted to establishing collaborative partnerships with Australian researchers. An experienced bioinformatician and biologist, Dr Fink received her PhD training at the University of California, San Diego initially at the bench studying human cancers and chemotherapeutics, then later expanding to bioinformatics and computational biology. She has been involved in large, international research consortia such as FANTOM3 and the International Cancer Genome Consortium and previously led a research group in computational oncogenomics at the UQ Diamantina Institute. BGI also operates a BGI College which was established in 2011 to set up an innovative education model integrating the expertise and resources of BGI to train professionals in the field of life science through hands-on practice and real research projects. BGI College has formed collaboration for joint undergraduate and graduate programs with key universities in China and internationally and is seeking more collaboration in Australia.

Simon Qi - IES Alumni from China; Manager of Corporate Strategy & Marketing at 3M China
Simon is a stand out alumnus of the IES Foundation Year which he completed prior to a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Queensland. He was appointed as the Manager of Corporate Strategy & Marketing at 3M China in 2016 with responsibility for development of a WeChat B2B store project with a capital investment of 1million RMB, and a data collection process for the Tmall and JD platforms. Prior to 3M Simon worked at Downer Group’s Engineering Graduate Program in Australia where he provided mine planning support for the Christmas Creek Iron Ore Mine (WA) and Commodore Coal Mine (QLD) projects. In 2016 Simon graduated with an MBA from the China Europe International Business School where he was awarded the Champion of 3M Invent New Future Challenge China and the Grand Champion of MBA Global Case Competition at Hongkong University of Technology.
