Before leaping into the Chinese market, companies should be ready to face an array of planning and operational business challenges. ACBC Victoria is running a series of briefings in 2017 to assist small to medium enterprises understand the complexities of doing business with China.


We are pleased to invite you to a lunchtime briefing going through our China Ready Checklist in order to equip you with the necessary information for planning and commencing commercial operations in or with China. 

Our speaker is Mr Peter Stephens, finance executive with extensive commercial experience in senior roles within growing Australian, US and European MNCs in Australia and across the Asia Pacific over a 30+ year career. 

Peter will cover topics such as:

  • Pre-planning and due diligence
  • What to look out for
  • How to set up a presence in China
  • Other considerations such as entry point, risk, tax, IP and government assistance
  • Where you can get help

Peter’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with case studies from Cr David Eden, Mayor, City of Kingston and Managing Director, Saber International and Cr George Hua, Co-Founder and former Chief Operating Officer, RoyalPay. They will provide insight into how their companies entered the China market and what to look out for when pursuing this process.

The presentation will be followed by chances for discussion and Q&A, as well as networking opportunities.
