In DFAT’s Transnational Crime Section, Amanda provides foreign policy and international legal advice on issues such as drug trafficking, the international wildlife trade, corruption and people smuggling. Prior to this, Amanda was Deputy High Commissioner in Nairobi, reporting on political transition, terrorism, piracy and international criminal law issues related to Somalia, Kenya and South Sudan while Australia was a UN Security Council member. Amanda has also worked on the Law of Sea, covering Antarctic and maritime boundary issues; and her first posting was in Solomon Islands during Australia’s leadership of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI).
