Dr Richards will comment on economic developments in China and the broader global economy; developments and prospects for the Australian economy; and considerations for monetary policy. 

With the Australian elections pending, the Australian central bank will release the quarterly Statement of Monetary Policy on 6 August.

This briefing could not be more timely for all companies, and in particular with regard to China Australia economic developments.  Thanks to Tony Richards and to the RBA for giving their time, we will have the opportunity to discuss the impact of current conditions with a top economic analysts of both national and economic conditions. 

Beginning his career with the RBA, Dr. Richards spent 10 years working on international capital markets issues at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. He rejoined the RBA in 2002, first as Deputy Head of International Department, before his appointment as Head of Economic Research Department and then Head of Economic Analysis Department.  His academic and policy research has been published in many leading international economic and financial journals.
