Patron
His Excellency Ken Michael, AC
Governor of  Western Australia

ACBC WA has for a long period been a focal point of the State’s relations with China.

Western Australia is building a strong partnership with China and is thriving on a trade relationship built upon the export of minerals, energy and agricultural goods.  ACBC WA has played a role as a driving force behind the building of relationships between Western Australia and China.

With some 100 members, ACBC WA represents a wide variety of businesses actively involved with China. The Council maintains strong ties with government at a Federal and State level, and includes working relationships with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrade, the Department of Industry and Resources, and the Department of Agriculture.

Membership includes major resource companies such as Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Woodside, through to medium and small businesses involved in Australia-China trade.

ACBC WA stays abreast of the constantly shifting nature of the Australia-China relationships with an Executive Committee bringing together expertise in resources, agriculture, education, healthcare, and professional services. A sub-committee structure allows the Executive Committee to specifically target needs across these various sectors of industry and trade.

ACBC WA has recognised the importance of building relationships with Chinese companies operating in Western Australia, a number of which have joined ACBC WA and are represented on our Executive Committee.

ACBC WA has a strategic alliance with The Confucius Institute at The University of Western Australia, which is dedicated to the promotion and development of Chinese language and culture.

ACBC WA will continue its commitment to building communications, relationships, business and trade between Western Australia and China.
