China Briefing 2/11 - The Chinese Wine Market: An Update

18 July 2011

China Briefing 2/11 on the Chinese Wine Market attracts wine makers and wine makers’ associations from South Australia

The second China Briefing of the year offered a platform for discussion about the Chinese wine market, its potential and the challenges it poses for Australian wine exporters and wine makers. The Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre in the Barossa Valley offered an ideal backdrop for this event.

Market data, the competitive challenges for Australian wine in China and the Chinese wine culture, as well as a situation analysis of and the financial implications for the wine industry in South Australia were the topics of the invited speakers. The event ended with a panel discussion with, among other members, a Senior winemaker from Orlando Wines and a vineyard owner, both offering hands-on China experience.

More than 50 guests attended the Briefing. The presentations can be downloaded from the Confucius Institute’s website.
