New South Wales

With over 300 members operating from the most economically vibrant state in Australia, the New South Wales branch of the Australia China Business Council has been at the forefront of business relations with China.

New South Wales was the first state to initiate ‘Sister State’ links, partnering Guangdong in 1979. The commercial side of this relationship has flourished ever since. With over one third of Australian trade with China originating in New South Wales, and with Chinese the second most spoken language in the state, New South Wales is a driving force in the growing links being forged between Australia and China.

The New South Wales branch publishes an annual Members’ Directory, featuring information and advertisements from all state members. This access to member details, adds further to the networking opportunities available.

With member access to over 30 functions annually, the New South Wales branch of the Council provides unsurpassed access to business information and networking. Recent functions have included visits by top officials from China and Australia. These strong relationships with contacts in Australia and China make for a regular flow of quality events and valuable information on the most current Australia-China affairs.

As the commercial relationship between Australia and China develops further over the coming years, the Australia China Business Council will continue to thrive. With expanding membership, increasing access to the latest China business information and networking connections, the New South Wales branch of the Australia China Business Council will remain a leader in state commercial relations with China, and a pivotal voice nationally.
