The President plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the operations of the branch with the Branch CEO.  Currently, and in the past, the President has hosted the ACBC NSW Branch office, represented ACBC at functions, hosted many of the Branch’s 60 events annually, and engaged with high level stakeholders.  The Branch President is also a Director on the ACBC National Board and, in that capacity, expected to attend National board meetings, National events, and other activities as required by the National Office.

The Treasurer plays an important role in overseeing the financial position of the Branch.  The position involves developing the operational budgets, developing event and activity budgets, accountability for the financial position for the Branch, and liaising with Executive Committee members, sponsors and members on financial matters.  The Treasurer is expected to have an accounting background.

Vice President

The Australia China Business Council NSW has seven Vice President positions charged with leading the Branch’s engagement in specific sectors aligned with the Branch’s priorities.  The Vice President positions are as follows:

·         Vice President, Development

·         Vice President, Agribusiness

·         Vice President, Memberships and Marketing

·         Vice President, Resources

·         Vice President, Education

·         Vice President, Small and Medium Enterprise Engagement

Vice Presidents of the Branch are expected to Chair a Sub-Committee of members from the relevant sector, engage with stakeholders from the sector they represent, develop a strategy for the Sub-Committee, assist in arranging events relevant to the sector, represent ACBC at engagements, and deepen the Branch’s engagement in that area.  Vice Presidents may, on occasion, be required to represent the President in his/her absence.
