ACBC NSW - Appointment of new CEO

06 July 2018

Appointment of Alison Airey as CEO of ACBC NSW

The ACBC NSW Branch is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Alison Airey as its new CEO.

Alison’s appointment follows the resignation of the previous CEO, Natalie Cope, to take up a position in the private sector.

Alison has extensive experience in managing the Australia-China business relationship, having worked as a senior official in the NSW Government advising the Premier and the Minister for Trade and Industry. She played a leading role in organising trade missions to China for the Premier and the Minister.

Alison was heavily involved in organising the involvement of the NSW Government and other state governments in the Australia-China Leaders’ Forum involving Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in March 2017.

Before joining the NSW Government, Alison worked in the private sector and as an official of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Alison has conversation-level proficiency in Mandarin.

President of the NSW Branch of ACBC, Dr Craig Emerson, welcomed Ms Airey’s appointment.

“Alison is highly qualified for the position and is both affable and approachable.

“I am confident she will further build the Australia-China commercial relationship, and I look forward to working with her and the ACBC NSW Executive and staff in taking cooperation to a new level.”
